Taddy Porter-Stay Golden

Taddy Porter are back!  You recall the catchy hits "Mean Bitch", or even the
infectious "Shake Me", from their first, self-titled release...if not, definitely want to get a hold of that album as well.  STAY GOLDEN, is a bit of a refresher in their music.  The songs aren't as heavy, but they contain more of a groove and a southern feel to them than prior cuts.  The first single and video, "Fever", has become a sensational hit.  It's calm, relaxing, and at the same time, it's an all out jam.  I find this track to be my favorite off the latest album.  Another infectious cut from STAY GOLDEN, has got to be the song "Changes".  This has some groove, and reminds you of some mid-70's rock.  It is a testament to how much variance Taddy Porter has really placed in their music, especially since their debut release.  "Chemicals" is a guitar-laced anthem, and gets you in a groove for the most part, yet, it seems to fall flat in the end lyrically.  Taddy Porter have done thing well the second time around, and that is that they have held true to their style and their roots.  The album does not seem as well produced and engineered as their first effort, but overall, it's a good catch for a music fan.  If you're a Stone Temple Pilots fan, a mellow Buckcherry fan, or even a Robert Randolph fanantic, you should find solace in this record.  I recommend picking it up digitally, and just grab the tracks that sound appealing to you, at least the recommendations for sure.  Great, southern rock is rare these days, just ask The Black Crowes.

My Dirty Addiction-My Dirty Addiction

My Dirty Addiction has come a long way, and sweat a lot of tears for us to hear some great music.  The band just released their first album in early 2013, and by all accounts the release show and album have been a success thus far, and there seems to only be one way to go from here, and that's up!  Lead vocalist, Harry Bestolarides, seems nothing short of optimistic on the band's future.  His voice soars in the band's famous track, "Crash and Burn".  The song, to me, is my favorite by My Dirty Addiction, and lyrically shows the true talent and potential this up and coming band has with them.  The guitar in this song is well played and showcased as well, reminds me of Candlebox guitar melodies somewhat.....love that!  I will admit, the vocals could be a bit louder, but for demos pretty much, and streaming songs from what I've heard the tracks from, the music is top notch.  Their reverbnation page is a great source for all their information, as well as the homepage.  "Rock All Night", one of the newest tracks, kicks you into high gear, and has that feel of a little Jet Black Stare (if you recall that band), or for those more familiar, new Drowning Pool music, or even sounding like rocking Brides of Destruction music, back from Nikki Sixx days......, either way you compare it, it rocks!  Another catchy, and good tune is "Tattoos and Tequila".  The title says it all, and you can guess how this little track dances you into the mood.....lyrically catchy as well.  "Hit me once, hit me twice, hit me three for a real good time.....", check this band out for an even better time!  If you get the chance, catch them at a show, grab a tune, listen online, support and "like" the band on their facebook link (below), don't say I didn't warn you, they are going to go somewhere soon.....you'll want to be a part of this rising.  My Dirty Addiction is indeed addicting, and they are here to stay...so....whether you like it or not, the addiction won't go away!

Angels Fall-Yesterday's Gone

This masterpiece has taken a bit of time to release, but the wait was so worth it.  Often, I hear them compared to Nickelback, but make no mistake-there is everything that sets the two bands apart.  First off all, the members of this group are very polite, honest, and generous to their fans.  The album kicks it off with, "Angel", a song about mysterious beauty, that seems to grasp great power over her heart.  "Yesterday's Gone", the second track on the LP, and I have to admit, it's one of my 2 favorites off this journey-filled release.  If you preorder/order the album now, from their store (see link below), they'll be even kind enough to sign a copy for you.  "Call on Me", if there's the slightest Nickelback comparison, it's this track.  Please, don't get me wrong, it flows great....but you're left wondering if the album will be mostly like that.  My friends, it's nothing like Nickelback at all, nothing.  Their smash hit, "Drunk Enough", is both available as a studio version, and along with, "Yesterday's Gone", they are featured "bonus" tracks.  I believe "Drunk Enough" acoustically is incredible!  Some solid jams are also to follow, called, "Goodbye To You", Closure", and "Something New".  These songs are NOT "fillers" for the album, but they are part of it's beautiful, stunning flow of music.  "Unsaid" is crafted well, with guitars taking the music to a whole other level.  "Evaporate" and "Somewhere I Belong" are some of my faves because they tear into your emotions, and allow this "angelic" music sink in, and to me, is why music has to breathe.  My favorite song from the album is titled, "Too Late".  This song holds meaning to me in ways, flows really well, and allows us fans to be able to call this band a force to be reckoned with in 2013!
