Killing Abraham-Killing Abraham

Hailing from the brilliant areas of Tennessee, Killing Abraham are one of those bands that seem to be under the radar.  With great measures, this band has seemed to show that they definitely belong in the modern rock and rock n' roll scene.  They released their self-titled debut in January of 2014, almost one year ago, and trust me; you don't not want to have this album in your collection.  With incredible vocals, and blaring guitar play...this album is just about perfection.  With ten tracks of punishing lyrics, and throttling music, Killing Abraham sets the tone with the album.  Such tracks as "Nightmare", "Faking", and "Wake Me Up", are excellent examples of the ferocity and fine work on the album.  The favorite track of mine was difficult to select, as there could be many up there.  However, I chose to pick the song "Scarred And Broken".  This is a very melodic track, with very fine lyrics, and a great temp that simply put; resonated with me quite well.  It also is a song that rests in the middle of this album''s track list, which was an excellent choice by the band.  Killing Abraham also laced up the album with the first song being called "No Surrender", and it sets a great mood for this debut record, I enjoy the way they lead you into the next track on each song's presentation.  This was an outstanding point that I seemed to discover.  Other stand out music on the release are songs like "Nightmare", "Beautiful Change", and the great song, "I Like It".  You truly cannot wrong with the album, it's able to be found at a great price at many online retailers, and it's a must for fans of bands like Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Bush, and Cyrenic.  Grab your copy today!

Valence-Laser Baron

Hailing from Westchester, New York, Valence id a force.  After touring constantly over the New England area, they were finally capable to find the time to release a masterful record called, "Laser Baron".  By opening for bands such as  The Sword, Clutch, and the rockers Consider The Source.  After all this relentless touring, one would be shocked a band could come out swinging with a powerful album, such as "Laser Baron".  The concept is basically a three part epic based on the fictional character, Doctor Mervin Taylor.  Taylor is represented by a tough struggle between evil and good.  The EP, so to speak, rings in at about sixteen minutes long and the struggles between evils and good can be felt in this musical wonder.  Also, forthcoming from the release is it's essence of pure music,  is a story of transcendence parallel universe if good evil.  Geoffrey Schaefer had penned and inked a storyline that gave us all the full story of Laser Baron.  The band are currently writing and arranging new material for 2015, while still showcasing the story of "Laser Baron".  nost of this is being done by the bold and inventive guitar playing Geoffrey Schaefer.  This is one of the most compelling projects I have had the pleasure of reviewing and listening to lately.  Actually titled, The Birth Of The Laser Baron, the effort's three parts are dynamic, unique in strength  and sound.  Track one, ""Part 1: Part 2", is a very inviting trance that welcomes us listeners into a wealth ofsome powerhouse musical arrangements.  My favorite section of this epic release is the one Valence titled "Chapter 2: Wormhole".  This one is very well composed and and written, and just may have what are the ingredients to be a really, really solid track.  For that matter, this entire band is really solid and shows that they have something to prove to the musical world we live and "rock out" in!!  This storytelling epic of a release is more proof that really good much does still exist, and this one is worth a listen.  I know it's not as many tracks, but the length of the songs, and the supremem quality of each track can really cause you to not go wrong!!

John Taglieri-Days Like These EP

For those not quite familiar with the talents of Mr. John Taglieri, then you may not own this music or material around you.  Yet, listen up!-You need to read about him and his journeys and musical lifestyle.  Such an impressive singer/vocalist....John has never sounded more delicately, profound, and tougher, within his life.  The latest release, "Days Like These", compels us, the fans and the curious ones to check into the record.  For one example, "Thin Air", is lyrically well-done.  It also, as does most of the album, eerily reminds myself, and perhaps other, like that skillful voice in The Counting Crows songs.  Take a sample out of the lead track off the EP, the song titled "Days Like These", and you will get more of upbeat, somewhat angry tone by John and the band, and here's a secret: it's my favorite track of the entire EP.  "Finish Line" is an excellent, calm, and somewhat somber song.  "Beautiful Tonight" are incredibly similar to a former smash hit artist, and a current vocalist still, as he works on ew material-that artist comparison is, Jamies (James) Walters.  Overall, this is worth the few dollars it costs, and seems like a live show that I would love to see!!  With well developed musicians, and strong uprisings, John Taglieri and his band mates have a brillitant and awe-inspiring horizon ahead of themselves!

Mud River-Mud River EP

Mud River has been up, down, left, and right.  They have experienced all the rides that
the music world can give you, and they are still standing.  That should tell you a lot about their passion and desire for their music.  They've gone through a line up change or so, but have no doubt, their fans are still there, and their sound is immaculate.  They have such dedicated fans, and are lyrically, and vocally strong.  It wasn't until current vocalist Dave Cornejo took to the mic that the power was heard, the rhythm was felt, and the "river" of this band's presence began to flow.  On their latest EP, simply put as "The Muddy EP", the five songs flow and rock as well as any music out there, if not better at times!  "Never Letting Go", a single that is my favorite track from the EP, seems to resonate well within me.  I enjoy the lyrics and the fire that burns within the song.  I feel, as a true fan of music, especially pure rock, one would latch on with this track, and soulfully glide into bliss with this track, note by note.  Another strong effort from the EP, is the song "Inside Your Memory".  This reminds me of a cross between Jackyl, Alter Bridge, and Soundgarden.  So, if you could blend the three, there you go!!  Let me just say this, this EP, well, it does not disappoint at all.  Not one bit.  "King", ends the EP, gracefully, and melodically reels you in.  It has a great beat throughout, and does an excellent job of leaving us wanting more of this band, some of us may know little about, for now.  Mud River is not going anywhere away from us people, so get used to that.  This band is here to stay, and like it's been said, "if you're not down with that, I've got two words for you...." BUY IT!!

Allison Red-Allison Red

Oh wow, another treasure discovered on CDBaby.  I honestly saw a mere, 192k "leak"
of this record a few months back, but I refused to download it.  I had sampled it from some other site, and really enjoyed what I had heard.  These guys, though I have yet to see them live, are killer.  They recently performed with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and I am sure they blew them out of the water, no disrespect to RJA though.  Allison Red have released them as a self-titled one, and a first single and video that's been in rotation is from the track, "Damn The Illusion".  Boy, that song shreds some air!  Lyrically, it is not their strongest though, however, this is a very strong lyrical band, I must admit.  My favorite cut off this record, is the song "Fractured".  My favorite lyrics in this song, and for that matter, the entire album, are; "....I'm still learning while pages burning, it's my decision I built this prison.  I'm longing for a change, but nothing's working.".  Those lyrics mean something to me personally, and I'd like to thank the band personally for that song and those words.  I've never met this band, yet I sure hope to one day.  Another excellent song is the first track off the record, cleverly titled, "All Is On Red".  This is a killer jam, and will lace you with a groove so infectious, a cure may never come your way!  The deepest, most darkest track on the self-titled release is the one they titled, "Red 313".  I'll keep this simple, but one line in that haunting track reads something along the lines of "....I'll even sell my soul in every dream, I want to be there together-but it's over with you...you've been taunting me....it's your demise...".  I highly recommend you "purchase" this CD at one of the links below, where available.  The floating around the internet, 192 k rip, sounds awful, and does not at all do this record, the vocals and lyrics, or band justice.  You can tell they worked hard on this record, and they deserve a great fanbase.  Definitely check this out!!
