Scent Of Remains-Under A Blackened Sky

Scent Of Remains are here to being the ripped off face of metal to your doorstep.  Wow!  If you are a fan of Devildriver, Wayne Static, Dope, Watain, and more metal acts with ferocious riffs and terrorizing hooks, this band will knock your seat out from under your ass!  "The Forfeit", is a straight rocker, brutal, deep, and a screamer that definitely eats at the core of aggression.  If this song doesn't get your attention, I am not sure what song would wake your ass up!!  The songs, "Hold You Under", my favorite track off the record, is brutal, in your face, and smacks the fuck out of you.  Basically, if you weren't wanting to jam, rock, or jump around, then this song has pretty much already made you do that by now, ha!  For some melody, hit up the track "From Ash We Rise", it still has the brutality, but very reminiscent if an All That Remains track, the song kicks it hardcore, and has infectious and melodic hooks!!  Definitely came close to my fave off the record!!  Another killer track, one that rips the eyes from the mirrors you stare into wondering if what you're hearing is for real, is "Exhale Oblivion".  That's all I can really say to that tune, perhaps also I can throw in a "wow"!!  Overall, the album is a continual burial of hard rock, metal, some thrash, brutality at it's finest.   If Ozzfest were alive today, they would be there for sure!!  You definitely want this if your a fan of the above bands, including All That Remains, Drowning Pool, Soil, Devildriver, and others.......ending this album with the song titled "These Dying Days" is incredible.  The song completes the journey, and is one hell of a song.  Feel it, love it, rock to it, and most importantly, fucking support these guys and buy it!!

Killswitch Engage-Disarm The Descent

Ahh, the sweet return of singer Jesse Leach to the thunderous sounds
of Killswitch Engage again, it cannot get much better than that.  It does not, for the most part anyways.  The first single released from this album, due out April 2nd, 2013, is called "In Due Time".  The song is tolerable, not one of my favorites at all, but it showcases the band's readiness for Jesse and their steadiness as a true metal powerhouse.  The album is also being released as a special edition, featuring a DVD and about four bonus tracks to throw in.  If I were you, I would go straight digital on this album, such as I-Tunes, mainly because the bonus DVD is just a documentary-type, or a behind the scenes version.  Now, if you are a huge KSE fan, go ahead, you'll know what you want.  Going digital will enable you to grab those bonus cuts as well, or just the good tracks.  Speaking of which, I'd like to give you my favorite song from the album.  The hard-hitting, pulse racing, in your face track titled, "You Don't Bleed For Me", is by far my favorite off this record.  It is one incredible cut.  If I had to pick another song as my favorite, I would go with the second song on the album, one called, "Beyond The Flames".  It's more in the style of their album, AS DAYLIGHT DIES, and it's a pretty solid track to reckon with.  Overall, a pretty solid release, just nothing to boast too much about, and be first in line to grab a copy.  There'll be plenty available online :)

Killswitch Engage-"In Due Time" (Single)

Killswitch Engage is back, and this time they brought their original powerhouse vocalist with them.  Jesse Leach, who voice tore through Killswitch Engage's early effort, ALIVE OR JUST BREATHING.  Though, the band has been successful with a different singer along the way, there can be no denying from critics, or their fans, that with their latest single, "In Due Time", the band is as strong as ever.  With powerful riffs, strong hooks, and brutal vocals, Jesse has moshpits twirling and bashing even right when the song is just beginning.  There is little doubt that this summer will be the summer of metal, who needs Ozzfest, when you have these strong bands, these metal-laced strongholds, holding ground and marching on ?  "In Due Time" is an indication as to what is to come on their new album, due out April 2nd of this year, 2013, that the "descent" is upon us!
