Soy Suspenso-Hotel Venganza

Omar Montanez, who is the power vocals behind this unique project, Julio Alvarez, the master guitar player, along with Alejandro Medina and Pol Gomez-they have pieced together a wonderful album here.  Rock, alternative, and some edge will keep you off your seats and rocking throughout the whole album, no doubt.  Earlier, you will recall I did a review for the English track titled, "The Anchor".  The song is just a mere example of where this record is skilled at, and you will be satisfied with the cover of R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion" as well.  Though, most of the music is in Spanish/Mexican sound, you get the groove, you get your rage and edge flowing.  Kicking it off with the album track, "Hotel Venganza", it may sound not as produced as well as one would like, but the  band has good intentions to tear the scene up.  The drums are excellent, one hell of a drummer, indeed.  Omar's vocals who why he worked so well with the respected Ty Oliver in Fiction Killer, before their split of one another.  "Banshee" is a beautiful instrumental, and done quite well, with beautiful arrangements and fine tunings.  This allows for diversity to be shown in this band, and that shows growth and also room for growth in them as well.  Still, not to be one-sided, but the song, "The Anchor", is my choice, for the best of the record, as well as the instrumentals.  I think overall, you'd have to say this record is a very good representation of what artists can do when they put their minds to it, and achieve what they go set out to do.  HOTEL VENGANZA is excellent, whether the production is top notch or not, bottom line is, the content, lyrically and musically is great.  If you can find it, or need to ask on their facebook page, Omar, or someone will be happy to assist you!

Soy Suspenso-The Anchor (feat. Tim Rosales III of I Am Ghost) (Single)

Hailing from the musically eclectic world of Mexico, Omar Montanez and his band, Soy Suspenso, have a "charged up" record called HOTEL VENGANZA.  The first single, "The Anchor", is a solid rocker, and delivers nothing short of an edge!  If you have heard of Omar's name before in the United States, it's because he's the gritty vocalist behind the California band, Fiction Killer, another one you should check out!  Soy Suspenso are incredible at what they do.  "The Anchor" kicks off with a catchy ass beat, guitar riffs, and the vocals make you want to jam from the very beginning.  The style is very similar to the beats and rhythms of some I Am Ghost tracks, if you were a fan of that band, I highly suggest this artist as well.  This is well done, immaculate, and deserves more recognition than it has gotten, there is no doubt.  I could see Soy Suspenso on future Warped Tour dates, and even some Taste of Chaos dates as well, yes, they are that good.  "The Anchor" is a fitting lead single, it gets you immediately hooked, and your there to enjoy the scenery of Soy Suspenso, all the fucking way from Mexico, which goes to show me, and you all that talent comes from anywhere, and like I've already said, this is a smash hit.....check them out at a link below!!

Fiction Killer-Catharsis Mode (Single)

If you thought that Fiction Killer were toying around with their first
two singles, well, then prepare your ears for this noise.  "Catharsis Mode" is a powerful storm of brutality that sounds like a combination of the first two singles, yet, I must admit, a bit more "pissed off" and "angrier".  With a rapidly growing fan base on facebook, and a recent exposure to the well known event, Rock on the Range, Fiction Killer is "lit up".  This summer, you can catch samplers being passed around at events in the Midwest for sure, such as the Rockstar Mayhem Festival in Noblesville, Indiana!!  Also, why not work some promo at the Cincinnati, Ohio stop of the Vans Warped Tour on July 30th?!!  If you don't believe, you will after this single, it will obliterate your speakers, and tear a hole into all you thought you knew was "heavy" rock music!!  With the vocals of Omar, and the genius of Ty Oliver leading the rest of the band, Fiction Killer is still primed and ready!!  "Watch for "Catharsis Mode" on their site for download on June 13th, 2013!!

Fiction Killer-Wake Up Screaming (Single)

Ty Oliver and the gang are back again, with their second single off of their upcoming
Summer release.  This time, it's the title track of their album, "Wake Up Screaming".  Due out on April 1st, through the band's official website, which you can find the link below, the single is a little different then the prior, "All My Enemies Are Dead" release.  However, this instance, different means better.  The "synth-like" beginning is bad-ass, and the following intro kicks major tunage out of the window.  If this song reminds you a little of most of the Davey Suicide album, then great!  I see a lot of the influence in this track.  Ty Oliver does an excellent job instrumentally in this masterpiece, and lyrically, it's better than their first release.  Omar Montanez's vocals are much more clear in "Wake Up Screaming as well, making this song a welcome choice for me to say, download the fucker!!  Also, download it to support this up and coming band, not because it is a free download, but because it is bad as hell!!  I am fortunate enough to be in touch with this band, and I feel bad for the "loser" band that lost Ty, and it's obvious in that band's music he's not there.  It's obvious in Fiction Killer's music that the "killer" is present, and the music is on the loose...let it ride, let it thrill ride, and turn the fucking radio, cd player, or whatever you have "Wake Up Screaming" playing on, up!!  Fiction Killer deserve your visit, so head to a link below, and say hello, tell 'em Jason sent you, or tell them their music kicks ass, either way....download!!!!
